I am making a backup break for my jenny, want to do it without load resistors. I read this is not a major problem with lower current output. I have about 50A per phase. The contactor will be at the end of the drop so there is some resistance in series.

Any thoughts from you experts ? Will this damage the turbine ? The blades power down in about 30 seconds so the current is dropping immediately.

should be fine ... what type of alternator do you have?

Wind Turbines are a lot funner to watch than solar panels

Not sure what kind, it's a cheapo 20KW from China. The output is 3 phase ac though.
