hello all. i am currently inheriting some land in nevada. north east of reno. (i couldnt find a nevada sight like this i hope yall dont mind) the property is off the grid no water, power, or sewage. i am really excited about building a small cabin out there. the property is in the mountains just south of upper pyramid. i checked the national wind map and seems to be 1 to 3 where i'm at. what i would appreciate is some advice to what kind of wind turbine i should use. also some litature on the setup. i'm good with schematics and wire diagrams so any of those would be helpfull. i would like the same power as my house,220, for heat and dryer. then step it down to 110.

thanks alot

Hello george

Heating with wind power alone gets real tricky, you would be better off using solar for youe heating needs, a solar/wind system would be much more realistic. you may concider not heating with eletric , unless you have real deep pockets.

can you tell us what your power comption would be?
and keep in mind a watt saved is a watt made.

Bryan

Wind Turbines are a lot funner to watch than solar panels

Heating and cooking:
Wood, Solar, Propane, not Electric.

220 For what?
You will need Solar pv pannels as well as a wind turbine.
You will need a portable gas generator to build with.and then keep it for back up.
Clouds and no wind= no electricity.
